Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
Civil Tortuous Interference/BOC
My former employer is suing me and
also making me pay back my buy-in
loan of $150K that was paid to them
in exchange for a job and for being
able to learn their trade secreted
medical techniques. I came to find
out when leaving that the
techniques were not trade secrets at
all, but everything that they did was
in the public domain. I came later to
find out that they directly copied
portions of their manual from a
copyrighted book. I informed the
owner of the copyright of the book
and he said he needed portions of
the copied material (which are under
the trade secret protection according
to the company). I passed along the
suggestion to a ''friend'' I still had in
the company who was originally on
my side of the story who then
backstabbed me an told the CEO of
our conversations and what I was
doing.
I was then informed that I was being
sued for BOC for revealing their trade
secret and for tortuous interference,
all for blowing the whistle on their
illegal activities.
Are there any legal remedies
available to me? I cannot afford a
lawyer for a defense of this case.

Re: Civil Tortuous Interference/BOC
Remedies are to defend the lawsuit with all the facts and evidence and law available, OR to settle. Simple 'hints and suggestions' are of no value to you in your circumstances. Reconsider hiring counsel, the alternative is disaster for you.
