Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
Legal Ramifications?
I worked at a start up company for 6 months, expense management company. We got paid on the savings I find for clients. I ran the entire operation, finding savings, and I know how to do this on my own, no contract was signed, saying i couldn't compete. i was just let go, and believe i can do this, all the company was, was a referral agent for different businesses. telecom, credit cards, electric, insurance. etc, anything they can get their hands on, I had to find savings.
Can i create my own business plan and do pretty much the same thing? I have the contacts. Would he be able to come after me with any legal injunctions, that would prevent me for doing this? If i form my own LLC, can he potential sue me? thank you!!

Re: Legal Ramifications?
Based on what you have written, it appears that there may be a bit more detail required prior to determining whether or not your prior employer could come after you. You also should consider consulting with a local law firm to set up the appropriate entity (e.g., LP, LLP, LLC, S Corp, etc). If my law firm can assist you with this legal issue or any other legal matters, please contact us at [email protected] to arrange for an initial consultation.
Re: Legal Ramifications?
Sorry to say this but anyone can sue anyone else at any time for any thing. Whether or not there's a probability of success, that's another story. However, a common ploy used by those with the money to spend on legal help is to spend people out of a lawsuit by overwhelming them with legal maneuvering. And, of course, not too many people want to try to match what's being spent agaisnt them because, often, what they stand to win is not as much as what they have to spend to win. So, there's a few questions to start asking yourself. Hope this helps a little.
