Licensing laws
I need to know if I need to acquire a business license for a company expanding to the U.S.? It is a Brittish staffing company (Nursing). Thanks for your time.

Re: Licensing laws
If I understand your question correctly, I can only speak to Texas law. In short, depending on your type of company, such as a corporatio or partnership of various types, one normally registers the company with the State when doing business here for a number of reasons. As for professional licensing, one would have to contact the appropriate state licensing authority for that information.
Re: Licensing laws
If your corporation plans to do any significant amount of business in Texas, then it should apply for a certificate of authority to transact business here. Alternatively, your corporation can form a wholly owned subsidiary corporation. Please contact me if you would like more information.
