Legal Question in Business Law in Texas
Statute Of limitation
I signed a contract in June 1998,the defendant lives and works in Dallas (Garland).I'm a music promoter in New Jersey and the defendant was to get a famous band to play in New York,I sent money to secure rights to promote the show. The was a breach of contract (the band was a no show),in the contract it stated that in the event of no-show I would get refunded 100% of my deposit($6000),I want to sue, what is the statute of limitation, and where would I sue.

Re: Statute Of limitation
For a straight breach of contract case, you have a four year statute. There may be other things to consider, such as fraud, etc. You should retain counsel rather soon, however, as these sorts of cases do not improve with age.
