Re: threatening with offensive language

The lack of detail in your question prevents anything other than a general type of answer. However, let me start with recommending that you contact an attorney in your area, due to the rather large degree of possible consequences. But, in general, yes there may be situations where the offensive use of language in a dispute may result in a lawsuit. For example, a dispute which is disparaging and untruthful, which is then sent to the Better Business Bureau or the local newspaper, could result in a suit for slander or libel. I wish you luck.

Disputing an invoice is one thing, not paying it may bring a lawsuit. The threatening and offensive language could bring a lawsuit for libel.

A very good rule of thumb is to never put anything in writing that you would not want read to a jury of your peers.

Good luck with it.
