Legal Question in Construction Law in Texas
Actual start date versus contract date
Contract dated May 1, actual start date 2 to 3 mos later, due to delays from other contractors, not any fault to myself. Can General Contractor actually destroy contract, or am I legally entitled to additional days due to the fault of others.

Re: Actual start date versus contract date
General Contractor cannot usually cancel contract due to no fault of yours. I would have to look at your contract and know more details about the delay to give a more precise answer.
Re: Actual start date versus contract date
It depends in large part on the language of the contract, and the reasons for the delay by others.
There's no hard and fast answer to your question.
As a general rule, though, the contract should not be voided if the delay is not due to your fault, unless that was something you had control over.
