Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas
Do I have a case for Small Claims Court?
We boarded our dog at his vets office while we went out of town. The night we got to our destination the vet called my husbands cell and said that one of her assistants had let the dog out to go to the bathroom and then went back inside, leaving our dog outside with a fence that later we saw had holes in it. Our dog ran out into the HWY and got ran over. We are asking that she replace the cost of the dog $ 500.00 and that she pay for our plane tickets since she ruined our trip. It equals to about $ 1600.00 all together. Can we get her for neglect?

If you can prove the fair market value of the dog, I would think a court would award that, but doubt you will have the vet pay for the airfare on your vacation.
