Legal Question in Consumer Law in Texas

No Stated Counseltation Fee

I was recently counseled by an attorney three times twice in person and once over the phone . Is it common practice to be counseled and then be billed for it later without stating what the fees are going to be before hand and without signing anything also!

Re: No Stated Counseltation Fee

An attorney will usually state their hourly rate, if the counseling is for legal advice. A signed contract is not required where the billing for services is on a straight time basis.

In the three consults, didn't you ever ask what the attorney's fees are? You knew that attorneys usually charge for their time.
