Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

A collection agency hired an attorney to sue me for a credit card debt. I asked the attorney (on two occasions) if I could include their client in a debt consolidation repayment program. They declined. I decided to let the case come before a judge just to see if we could come to a better solution than the punishment of a judgement against me and a moral victory for the Plaintiff. The day before our court date the attorney filed with the court a request for an Order of Non-Suit and Dismissal. (Didn't see that coming!)

My question: Does this permanently close their case against me or can they start the whole process over whenever they feel like it?

Thank you very much.

No, they can sue you again. If you look at the dismissal order, it probably has the words "without prejudice" in it.
