Re: Entering into a contract with a minor

Contracts with a minor are voidable at the minor's discretion, so long as action is taken before too much time has passed after turning 18. Now you'll just have to ride out the seven-year period during which the debt may be reported. After seven years has passed, contact the credit bureaus and request that the debts be removed from your credit report. In the meantime, you can have an explanation added to your credit reports explaining the youthful indiscretion.

Re: Entering into a contract with a minor

I think there is a better approach than through the minor issue. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, a debt may be reported for seven years from the date of last activity. Sounds like the seven years is up or close to it. Send a letter to each of the big three credit reporting agencies requesting the account be removed for this reason.
