Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas

I ask this question a few weeks ago and never recived a reply. I really need help. I made a verbal agreement with a cable co for service for my stepfather in june at a monthley fee of $19.99 a month. Two days after it was installed he had to be moved to another nursing home that has free service and when I called the company they said I would have to pay for the next two years at $52.66 a month. I'm a widow on social security and can't afford the payments. I just need to know if there is anyway to get out of this agreement without have them file a lawsuit on me. Please let me know something soon. Thank you so very much for your help.

Here's what you need to do: Don't pay them, and don't talk to them. Don't take any phone calls from them; just hang up. You've already told them what your situation is (I assume), and if they keep calling, they're just being rude.

I repeat: Hang up on them. Hang up on them. Really.

If they send you mail, don't read it; throw it away.

They won't sue you. I guarantee it.

Stop worrying about this. It isn't a problem.

Agreed..a lawsuit is not probable...Why would tghey spend the money to get nothing?? But you could write them to cease and desist harrassment ..phone calls and to put all demand in writing. But don't worry about it
