Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Texas
I just received a phone call I am going to assume from a bill collect. First thing they told me was I was going to be arrested. I told them what they were say was against the law and to stop calling my cell and work numbers. They proceed then to call my work number 19 times in a row. I did pick the phone up a couple times during this and all they would say is redial, redial. I asked for the name and company but they would not give it to me. Do I have any recourse against. them?

1. Contact the police and see if they'll help. What the bill collector is doing is illegal.
2. Go to Radio Shack and purchase some recording equipment. Start recording the phone calls. Remember to make some kind of notation of the DATE AND TIME of each call that you record (the recorder itself doesn't do this). This will be the evidence you'll use against them when you file a civil suit against them.
