Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
bad checks
I wanted to know the law on bad checks. Situation: serving time in Texas Department of Corrections and currently have checks being turned into warrants because of nonpayment. To date 24 warrants out for arrest. What is the law in this situtaion? When released no telling how many there will be.

Re: bad checks
You are going to have to deal with them. Contact the courts where the checks are being turned in, so that they are aware you are confined. They will find out when you are set for release, and instead are detained on the various warrants. If you notify the courts, the warrants will be recalled and you will save money in the long run.
If you can get someone to pay the checks for you, it would help. Otherwise, you need court-appointed counsel to consolidate all of the checks into one charge to resolve.
