Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

criminal indictment

Is a criminal indictment ''faulty'' to the extent of over-turning or remanding a conviction if not signed by Grand Jury members. And, if signing is necessary, how many Jurors need sign?

Re: criminal indictment

Hello there,

Indictments in Texas have to be signed by the Grand Jury Forman. Then they are signed by the District Clerk.

If they are lacking signatures a motion to quash the indictment should be filed.
