Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

General search / Random siezure

A Corporal Investigator & a TX ranger had a search warrant for my place. I wasn't home & so the front office let them in. They rummaged through EVERYTHING & siezed my desktop PC which hasn't worked in a year, A CD container filled with about 30 programs & Labeled CDRs some with family photos & docs, A box thats been sitting for months containing about 30 Playstation & Dreamcast games & a coin sorter. They also took some opened mail in a couple peoples names, along with a notepad with names, bdays & socials. He took some of my girlfriends mail & papers she left there & then called her 2 days later asking if she knew she was a victim of Identity Theft. A copy of the search warrant was left on my counter. 2 Pgs, 1st addressing me & saying they are to search my place, signed by a magistrate. 2nd-''Return And Inventory'' form which seemed to be filled out after the search was finished because it's not dated or signed. The only writing says he siezed just 3 items 1.box of discs 2.pc tower 3.box w/misc papers in various names ect. No where on either paper does it say anything about why they were searching or what they were searching for. He would not tell me anything at all over the phone. Where all thier actions legal? What are my rights?

Re: General search / Random siezure

You might try to locate the affidavit presented to the magistrate before the magistrate issued the search warrant. You might also try to locate a good criminal defense attorney.
