Murder Confession
If someone admits murderering someone to you, is it a crime not to notify the authorities? If so, what is the standard punishment range for such an offense.

This is a complicated area of the law.
You cannot obstruct justice, or withhold evidence.
What you have heard may be a confession that leads to tangible evidence, or it may gossip.
