Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

parole/change address

I was arrested in 2005 for possession of Marajuana. Was put on pre-trial diversion. Could not complete community service hours. Original charges filed, went to court, put on probation. Lots of money and 80 hours of community service. Drivers Lic. suspended, no way to work, 20 miles from town, no way to get to community service, drug classes, work, parole officer, etc, no help from mom. Grandmother 200 miles away will help. How do I get my case moved to her jurisdiction?

Re: parole/change address

Your title says parole, but your description sounds like straight probation. If you are on probation, it is not unusual to get a transferred, but you normally need the cooperation of the probation officer. I would recommend you do this through a lawyer, but if you can't get a lawyer, then ask your grandmother to write a detailed letter to the PO explaining what she has to offer in her county that will help you get back on your feet to successfully complete the probation. Have her also send the leter to the APO in her county. You then need to discuss the situation with your APO. If the receiving county is agreeable, then he may recommend transferring the case for courtesy supervision.
