Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas

question about attempted murder

If a husband shoots his wife, (with no provocation, no threat, no nothing) then turns the gun on himself-- they both ultimately survive--will he be arrested and prosecuted whether or not the wife presses charges? If she decides not to press charges will the husband go completely free?

Yes he will be charged. He has committed a crime. The wife doesn't press charges, the State of Texas does.
