Im in texas is there a way to have my criminal record cleared without having to hire an attorney

Cleared of what? If convicted, you can apply to the governor for clemency (pardon). If deferred, you can file for nondisclosure (after paying a filing fee IF your offense is covered by that statute.) If you had a case dismissed or nobilled by a grand jury, you can file in civil district court (paying a filing and service fees) for an expunction.
Generally speaking, you should not do these things yourself because if you mess them up, then you have wasted your time and money.
Not that pardons are very, very, very.... rarely granted.
