Legal Question in Criminal Law in Texas
Welfare Overpayment
My friend a mother of 3 was
overpaid $300 when she lived in
Texas. She was charged with a
felony and booked and released.
Her public defender said there was
nothing that could be done. They
released here from Probation, but
her term ends in March 2010. She
can't find work because of this
felony. What can I do to help her?

Re: Welfare Overpayment
Seek an attorney licensed to practice in Texas. In California we would try to reduce and expunge the record pursuant to 1203.4 pc. Hope that helps. David Wallin at www.wallinlaw.com

Re: Welfare Overpayment
With a Texas conviction, consult with Texas attorneys to see if it can be expunged there.
