Legal Question in DUI Law in Texas

Can I get a drivers liscense in another state?

I'm about to lose my drivers liscense in michigan for drinking and driving 2nd offense. I'm moving to texas in the summer. Will I be able to aquire a drivers liscense in Texas? If not, will the length of suspension change, or will the suspension ruling in michigan stand.

The suspension in Michigan will be applied in Texas through the interstate compact.

This interstate compact informs other states regarding an individuals drivers license.

However you should try to obtain an occupational drivers license in Michigan.

That license will not be valid in any other state but it is at least a start.

If my office can be of any further help, feel free to contact us.
