Re: son received DWI

Plan on hiring a lawyer. Since it will need to be done eventually, I recommend the sooner the better. If in fact, you wait for a court date, the court will normally allow you 20-30 days to hire a lawyer. Additionally, if his driver's license is jeopardized, the attorney will have time to address the issue of the administrative hearing.

Re: son received DWI

You need to hire a DWI attorney ASAP, not just a criminal defense attorney, but a DWI Attorney. What Ms. Langford did not tell you is that your son has 15 days from the date of his arrest to request an ALR Hearing or his license will be automatically suspended 41 days from the date of his arrest. ALR is an acronym for Administrative License Revocation Hearing, look at the paperwork your son recieved and it mentions it what I have said in very small print. The Form is a DIC 24, and is titled "Notice of Suspension and Temporary Driving Permit." But what ever you do not wait until the court date to hire an attorney because the ALR hearing also helps the attorney with Discovery if handled properly.
