Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Child Custody

My x-husband is trying to obtain a temporary order on withholding child support from me, when he hasn't paid anything for 8 yrs. He currently has our oldest daughter in N.D. She has lived there for 3 yrs and in 2006 he received 14K from me to erase his backpay. It was an ultimatum from him becasue I needed help, I was ill. Now that he received that, he refuses to pay anything and on top of that, he wants me to give him more money. Is there anything I can do to prove his absence in my other daughters lives and in his non-payment for them?

Re: Child Custody

You might have recourse, but I do not understand your situation. Why would you give him money to erase his arrearage? How does that help you when you are ill? How many children are there? How much child support is owed, by whom? Child support is determined by court orders, not side deals. You sound as if you have been bullied. Take all of your paperwork to an attorney to determine your options. Good luck.
