Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I have custody and my 15 year old son wants to live with his mom. If I let him try it out until the summer would I be giving my ex-wife the ability to change the decree prior to the summer?

If she has the child for 6 months and you voluntarily surrendered him to her, then she can file to modify the current court orders.
