Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

my ex-wife is in arrears with child care and education fund payments in the amount of $5000 I've sent a warning that I would have to take legal action. This was 60 days ago. What comes next?

You can do one of two things:

1. File a motion for enforcement (also known as a motion for contempt) which asks the Judge to put her in jail. You're going to need a lawyer for this.

2. File a motion to reduce the arrearage to judgment (it doesn't ask for jail time). You'll need a lawyer for this too.
