Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
My friend died without a will. In the state of Texas he had relinquished his parental rights to a daughter years ago. She was adopted as a child by the new husband of her birth mother. They have been estranged for many years. Can she now lay claim to his estate? There are no other children nor is there a spouse.

A child inherits from a parent after a termination unless the court orders differently. The daughter will have to get the order from the court. That may be difficult because it was probably sealed, but it can be done.
