Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Who should leave the home

My daughter is being asked to leave her house by her common law husband. The home is titled both under his and her name. He states that because he pays the bills he has a right to keep the home. Should my daughter leave and find somewhere else to live? Please advice.

Your daughter should RUN -- not walk --into an attorney's office for help.

Obviously, she is not aware of Texas law.

Of course, if she thinks he might injury or kill her, her safety should be her priority and not her belongings.

Check around with friends and family and find an attorney that understands Texas divorce and property law.
