Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Modifying possession or visitation orders

I'm trying to modify my possession orders to have my ex be responsible for taking our children to & from their extra-curricular events when they're in his custody (weekends). At this time he's refusing to take them to any of the things they participate in

Re: Modifying possession or visitation orders

This is a difficult situation. If this is not a requirement in the decree, then you may encounter problems getting a judge to order it. I have heard judges announce that during the father's time of possession, he has no obligation to accommodate schedules of the mom or extracurricular activities, that it is his time to spend with the children as he chooses. Other judges have strongly encouraged the father to honor kids extracurricular activities as it improves their relationship. Each situation is unique, and you should retain an attorney to review and advise you on the particulars of your situation.
