Non custodial parent

How do i go about getting my son's father to sign over his rights with or without his permission. The child is 12 and he has seen his father 5 times in his life .My husband want's to take full rights to the child .How can i do that,or can i do that.Also the father pays child support but they are currently looking for him.

The proceedings are a Termination of Parental Rights, with a concurrent Stepparent Adoption. This is not a DIY type of proceeding, especially if the termination is contested. This affects the remainder of your child's life, and numerous collateral issues. You should retain an attorney.
