Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My neighbor was arrested for a domestic dispute and jailed. We bailed him out. His wife has had the locks changed on the house and he cannot get in to get any of his possessions. He has the clothes he stands up in and that is all. He has no money no transport. His spectacles and important papers are in the house. His wife refuses to answer the door to us or him.

What can we do ?

Sometimes you can get the local police to help you with this sort of thing. They might be willing to accompany this man into his house help him get his stuff. Give them a call; the worst that can happen is that they say "no."

He really, really needs to file for divorce also. He can get temporary orders that will allow him to get some of his stuff.

TECHNICALLY, he still lives there. If he kicked down the door, he isn't burglar; it's his residence. There are some possible consequences if he does this, though.
