Paternity

My son is 17. His ex-girlfriend is pregnant and due in Feb. She has stated and is very adamant that my son is the father. They both dated other people throughout their relationship. We want a paternity test once the child is born. However I want to know if there are any legal steps that can be taken to avoid her from putting my sons name on the birth certificate until the paternity test is complete.
