Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
I am unmarried. My ex girlfriend and I have a son. We had worked it out so that I get him a week and she gets him a week. During the time we work he stays with my sister who watches him but she lives so far that she has to keep him for days. During her weeks she doesnt call and rarely comes to see him. All i want is to find out how I can arrange it so that if she continues to not see him I can get custody of him.

The only way to nail things down is to go to court and get a court order that will
1. legally establish that you are the father of the child.
2. appoint conservators.
3. establish terms and conditions of possession - who has the child when.
4. set up court-ordered child support.
Any agreement you make with her isn't worth the paper it's printed on.
I am a board certified specialist in the field of family law, practicing in the general Houston area. You need to speak with me or another family law attorney. You first need to determine whether a formal parent-child relationship has been established between you and the child. I would be glad to visit with you about the issues which would be involved in your case, if you would contact me directly.
I offer a face-to-face consultation for $1 per minute.
