Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas
Borrowing
If an item of clothing was borrowed from a friend under only the condition of it being returned, if there is damage done to the clothing upon its return am i liable for the damages? If so if the person i borrow the clothing from says that its ok when i return the clothing can they at a later date ask for compensation? The Item of clothing borrowed was a pair of jean and was returned ripped the jeans probably cost between 20 and 60 dollars

Re: Borrowing
If you lend something to someone, you expect to get it back in pretty much the same condition as when you lent it. It would be one thing if you returned the jeans in filthy condition. That, at least, can be solved with washing. Ripped or torn is quite different, since that may really reduce the value of the jeans.
