car sueing

can a person sue me over a car that is mine? a friend of mine offered to take over the payments on my car with the understanding that after it was paid off, he would give me 1500.00 (what I paid for the car until he took over payments including a trade in vehicle), the car was paid off and he did not)I have been waitng 3 months since he siad he would pay me. no transfer of title, no written agrrement, no insurance in his name, no receipts in his name.does he have a case? I have the title and an extra set of keys. i did repossess the car and he decided to sue.

Sure he can sue you. The question is whether he can make it stick. Since he broke his promise to pay you the $1500, you have a fair argument that his payments in your name were the same as if he'd rented the car from you.
