Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

Property Dispute

I purchased a living room set with an ex gitlfriend and had it financed in my name. We have since ended the relationship and she has the furniture. We had an oral agreement that as long as she has the property she will pay for it. She has been late several times and has not paid this months bill. Every time I call to confront her it turns into a big mess. I told her I want the property back and her response is good luck finding me. What can I do to get my furniture back and any possible payment from her since we purchased this together?

Re: Property Dispute

Kiss the furniture good-by and start making payments. Your oral agreement is not worth the paper it's not written on. You could sue her in small claims court. The filing fee is reasonable and your might be able to prove your case to the JP, but they are not any more fond of these cases than the rest of us.
