Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

StatusConference Setting

I haved filed a civil action, pro se, against my ex-fiance. The court did not notify me of a status conference and is looking to dismiss my case for want of prosecution. I live in PA and it is hard for me to make these conferences. What can I do to keep the case open and what all affidavits or motions will I have to file to do this? The last submission I made on the case was in Early August for alternative service under rule 106 and have not received a ruling yet. The deadline is September 9th and the letter was received today. Can the motions, etc. be faxed to the court in Galveston Co. where I am filing? What do I do to avoid further status conferences too?

Re: StatusConference Setting

If you haven't already done so, you need to post this to the Texas list...or perhaps you should post it to the Texas list again.

Your best bet would be to hire a Texas attorney who can keep up to date on your case there.

I recommend that you hire a Texas attorney who is in the jurisdiction you are filing suit.
