Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Texas

While I was at work, my daughter crawled through the doggy door with her friends and moved out in March 2010 without informing me. Why she crawled through the doggy door I can't explain since she had a key. It has been over 3 months since she moved. She turned 18 in 2009. She has not contacted me until now demanding that I pay for her college and demanding furniture that she says that I won't give her. My question is since she moved out without my knowledge why should I give her anything out of my home when I paid for it and she is just now contacting me.

If you or someone else gave her items after she turned 18, then you should let her have those items.

If you don't have a need for all or some of the furniture, then you might consider giving all or part of it to her. Generally, you won't regret acts of kindness shown towards family members. Though you do not want to create dependency in an adult child, reward bad behavior, or give when it will not be appreciated.
