Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas

I just been applied for temporary work visa and my question is, i just got my passport at houston and somebody told me that i have to doit only in mexico could this bring me any trouble ? is this true? when ihave my interview

What visa? Who applied for you? What is your current non-immigrant visa (status) in USA? Are you here legally, if yes, on what visa? How long have you been in USA and when your I-94 card expires(-ed)?
