Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas
Hi, I am a F1 student and in my OPT right now. My Opt is about to end in two months. My husband is a green card holder since 2006. I want to know if I can apply for his dependent or remain in my F1 status until he gets his citizenship? We both are in US and have registered our marriage here. Please suggest.

Your husband can petition for you. However, you will not be able immediately obtain a green card or become his dependent. There will be a few years gap between him filing the petition on your behalf and you being able to apply for a green card and a work permit based on his petition.
