Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas

I am an F-1 student, sophomore who happen to have been selected for further processing of DV lottery after I applied last year. Am yet to file for adjustment of status but I was recently charged with class A misdemeanor (theft) and spent 3days in jail. Now am on probation for 1year and after I go to court my case will be dismissed after successfully completing the terms of probation.

I am in my full status as a student enrolled and my visa is still valid till January of 2011 when I will need to go out of the country to have it renewed.

My worry is that my greencard can be denied now that I committed a crime of moral turpitude and therefore I need advice reagrding my query. I currently reside in Texas.

Yes, that could be a problem. You should consult a lawyer in private (in person or over the phone).

In addition, you can't file for adjustment of status under the DV-2011 until your case number is current (based on a Visa Bulletin's priority dates).

I have experience with DV adjustments.
