Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas

my husband and i hav eknown each other for 10 years and we got married in 20008. When he came over to the US he crossed illegaly. He was caught by immigration and all his prints and birth certificate were taken. We have heard that after 10 years all information that is retained by immigration gets deleted or shreded from their records, is this true?

No, that is not true. Nothing is ever deleted. There is a permanent record of his arrest by the border patrol or immigration law enforcement and an FBI criminal record. Unfortunately, it looks like he is not eligible for adjustment of status or a green card.
