Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas
Is it possible for a nonresident convicted aggravated felon to remain in the United States if he marries a US citizen while he is serving his jail sentence, or is there no chance for him to remain in the US ?
1 Answer from Attorneys
It's not very likely. You need to consult an immigration attorney, specifically to see whether the conviction is an aggravated felony and whether a foreign national is deportable and/or inadmissible to USA.
Please keep in mind that marriage is not a solution to all immigration problems. Sometimes a person married to a US citizen can't remain in USA either for some years or even permanently.
