Legal Question in Immigration Law in Texas

I submitted an immigrant petition for my brother (I130) in 2003. On Sep 15 2009 the case was transferred to the NATIONAL BENEFITS CENTER for additional processing. They indicated that I will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something from me. How long should I expect for them to contact me for a decision or if further information is required? and how long will be after this step to complete my brother's immigrantion process?

If your brother is from a country other than Mexico or Philippines, wait time is approximately 10-11 years (starting from 2003 when the petition was filed). For a brother from Mexico or Philippines, waiting time would be longer.

After approval, the petition will be held at the NVC until its priority date is current.
