Legal Question in Employment Law in Texas

Breaks and Lunch

When I was hired, I was told I would work 12 hour days with one hour for lunch.

Two days later, I was told I would work 12 hour days with one-half hour for lunch and 2 15-minute breaks.

Last week it changed again to 12 hour days with 45 minutes for lunch and one 15-minute break.

My question is two-fold:

One, does this meet minimum time off requirements for a 12 hour day, and two, will I be paid for the time away from my work station?

Re: Breaks and Lunch

The U.S. Department of Labors rule is that if a break or rest period is twenty minutes or less the break time is compensable. You should also get compensated if you work during your breaks. Keep track of the time that you take compensable breaks in order to recover compensation in a future action.
