overtime
Can my employer require me to work overtime with no compensation? I am a salary employee, not a manager, and if I miss a day they deduct it from my vacation/personal time.

Most likely not. The FLSA regulates overtime compensation and divides all employees into two categories: exempt and nonexempt. Non-exempt employees who work over 40 hours in a workweek are generally entitled to overtime pay at time-and-a-half of their regular rate of pay. As for exempt employees, there are four categories in which a worker can qualify for exempt status under FLSA: 1-Executive; 2-Administrative; 3-professionals; 4-Outside Sales. Consult an employment attorney to determine if you fall within a specific exempt category.
