i wanted to know if it was legal for a nurse to tell a terminal ill patient that he has cancer and that its real bad he brought the ER report to he's room and read it to us, but he had already told him prior to us being there and he didn't know he had cancer we hadn't talked to him

I don't focus on this are of the law, but I think it is safe to assume that the patient has a right to know their condition from their doctor.
