Legal Question in Personal Injury in Texas

My child has a permission slip from school for an upcoming field trip.

The slip I am to sign says "I understand that the trip has been well planned and all precautions will be taken to prevent any accident. I understand that neither (school) nor (sch. district) can assume responsibility for any accident involving my child while on the excursion."

So if the bus has a failure or the bus driver gets distracted or any thing drastic, I have to "be chill with it".

As I read it, this means that if your child is injured, you would have to sue the school district.

School districts can be held responsible for damages from car accidents.
