Subdividing land
Is it possible to 're-deed' a parcel of land such that instead of one large parcel, you would have two smaller parcels? There would be no intent to change ownership in the process.

I suppose that you could re-deed the property to yourself by separate deeds, but it makes no sense to do so because nothing will have changed legally.
Those who may favor this tranaction:
1. Lawyers who get to charge for preparing two deeds.
2. County clerks who get to charge for extra recording fees.
3. Accountants for handling increased paperwork (assuming that you are running a redundancy program for all of your activities).
4. Weyhauser and Georgia Pacific for extra paper usage (again assuming that you are running a redundancy program which takes a lot of paper).
Those who may not like it:
1. Your executor when you die.
2. The tax appraisal district probably may not be too happy about it because will increase their paper work, and they may feel like they need to assign a new account number, and if homestead is involved, it may add some confusion.
