Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Texas

my ex husband left me as beneficary to his life insurance policy we where divorced in texas and i now live in al we had no children together but my children where his step children and now the insurance company is saying i cannot recieve the benefits because texas laws states this. he died in feb of this year.the divorce decree did not state i was to recieve it nor did he re enroll after the divorce is there anything i can do?

No. The insurance company gave you a true reading of Texas law. Your ex's estate will be the beneficiary of that policy.
