Deceased Grandparent's Will to Minor 1981

I am the only grandchild of a man who died in 1981. My mother claims that my grandfather was saving money for me. My father and step-mother are earily muted on the subjuect and I have received no personal belongings that I know were to be mine. I have just requested a copy of the will. If I do learn that I was to receive an amount of money or valuable belongings which have since been sold, what recourse would I have? My grandmother is still living as is my father. My mother says she signed something that waived my right to the inheritance. Is that possible?

If the will was probated, it can be viewed at the probate court in the county of your grandfather's residence. A file that old will need to be ordered and it probably will take a couple of weeks to retrieve. Best of luck.
